INTRODUCTION

Hi! My name is Malchi Sheela George. I have been working with Our Own English High School, Sharjah,GEMS Group, for the past 12 years.

My day to day experience with this prestigious school has opened new chapters in developing my professional skills as a leader. Opportunities and challenges created a sense of direction and purpose in every responsibility that I shouldered. Handling the Middle-school segment all these years has strengthened my ablities and understanding on the pre-teens and methods of handling teachers and students.

Prior to joining the GEMS Group, I had held positions in the capacity of a Principal and a Vice-principal in  small schools at  Kathmandu, Nepal. My experience as a teacher in teaching the secondary and senior secondary students in CBSE schools in INDIA has enabled me to understand what teachers expect from their leaders.

I hold a pre-doctorate degree in child development and bachelor’s in education. Last year I completed an Executive Diploma on the Use of Instructional Technology In The Classroom from Michigan State University, Dubai.

I am passionate about updating my skills and being current in my knowledge and the application of it. Apart from the regular adminstrative work, guiding and training teachers in improving their classroom teaching and learning process, I enjoy till date, spearheading the Eco-initiatives of my school.

I am grateful  and thankful to the GEMS Group for granting the scholarship and enabling me to pursue the MASTERS PROGAMME at the Manchester Metropolitan University on Educational Leadership and Management.

I am extremely delighted at having taken up this course to further enrich and enhance my leadership skills. I look forward to becoming a learner, teacher and an efficient leader.

Cheers!!
M.Sheela George
